Tim Koogle
Tim Koogle has had a long career as an entrepreneur, business executive and CEO. His most recent public company role was that of founding CEO of Yahoo! Inc. from 1995 to May 2001. He was Chairman of Yahoo!’s Board of Directors until 2001 and Vice Chairman from 2001 to 2003. Under his leadership as CEO and chairman, he helped build Yahoo! into a leading Internet media company with annual net revenues of more than one billion dollars. During his tenure, BusinessWeek named him one of “The Top 25 Executives of the Year” in 1999 and 2000. Prior to Yahoo!, Tim was president of Intermec Corporation, where annual sales increased four-fold to more than $400 million during his four year leadership. Tim also served as corporate vice president of Intermec’s parent company, Western Atlas Inc., a multinational information services and technology company with revenues exceeding $2.4 billion annually. Prior to Intermec, Tim spent nine years with Motorola , having sold his first startup business to them at the age of 29. There, he held a number of executive management positions in operations and corporate venture capital. Tim holds a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Virginia and M.S. and doctorate degrees in engineering from Stanford University. He currently is a private venture capitalist establishing and building high growth private companies. He is a board member or Chairman of a number of private companies in technology and consumer products and also sits on the board of Thomas Weisel Partners, a publicly held investment bank. Additionally, he is the founder and CEO of Serendipity Land Holdings, and Managing Director of the Koogle Foundation, a non-profit foundation focused on the education of underprivileged and high risk young people in the US, Asia, and Latin America.
