Jennifer Thompson

Jennifer started her career in film and video fifteen years ago as the post-production coordinator for the documentary From Hollywood to Hanoi, which screened at Sundance, Telluride and aired on Cinemax. In 1994, Jennifer was an assistant producer for the ITVS series A Question of Equality directed by Arthur Dong and Isaac Julian. Then Jennifer started working at Maysles Films in New York City and produced several shorts, including Hearteater, a PSA written by Alice Walker and filmed by Albert Maysles. Jennifer also produced and edited A Portion of Time, a short film that screened at the Guggenheim Museum.

Since moving to San Francisco in 1998, Jennifer has edited and produced many independent projects including In Search of Character and Popcorn Park. In 2001 Jennifer was a segment producer and editor for the award winning series Digital Journey, which aired nationally on public television stations around the country. In 2004, Jennifer directed and produced the feature documentary american dream 2.0 which screened at the Austin Film Festival, theatrically premiered at the Red Vic Theater in San Francisco and aired on KTVU in the Bay Area. In 2007, Jennifer co-produced the feature documentary Congress Shall Make No Law.

For the past three years, Jennifer has been a judge for the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, San Francisco/Northern California Chapter Emmy® Awards. Jennifer received her B.A. in Journalism from New York University in 1994.
